When working with children and adolescents, the attachment relationships are viewed as crucial to a child’s wellbeing. Kathryn, our Wantirna psychologist, holds this at the heart of therapy with children and translates this into parents/guardians/carers being actively involved throughout their child’s time in therapy. Parents/guardians/carers are also supported during this process.
What this could look like will be explored together in the initial stages. Kathryn’s interactions and understanding of her client’s situations are strongly influenced by the principles of attachment theories and interpersonal neurobiology.
