Today I wanted to discuss what is the best type of pillow to sleep with.
A lot of my clients tend to ask this having the wrong type of pillow can cause a lot of problems. is too high, too low, this, we can often wake up with a little neck pain, a little headache, stiffness.
Sometimes even pain coming into our hands because we’ve got one nerve and blood supply that comes from here all the way down into the hand and that can cause a lot of problems.
Making sure we have a good pillow is really important to protect ourselves.
Pillows that I recommend to avoid, first of all, is something like this? No, it’s very fluffy even the feathery top pillow, not a lot of support through there. If it’s too high, too low again, that’s going to really jam up our neck as we’re sleeping. If we’re spending six to eight hours of sleep, that’s a lot of stress.
I always recommended anything that is contoured in shape and it comes in different heights.
You can see how it’s a little higher on this side, lower on this side, curve through here. Now there’s a lot of different brands out there, making sure you’ve got something like Latex Memory Foam always really good, but it’s going to make sure it’s the right height for you.
Now, if you’ve got one of these pillows and it’s not working for you, it might be a sign that your neck is out of alignment. So it could be worth getting it checked by a chiropractor to say if there are some problems in through here.
